Cafe Latte
850 Grand Ave., St. Paul
Swedish Latte, by Aubree Mease
The fresh spring air rushing through Grand Avenue draws a perfect match for the renown Cafe Latte. Fancy lattes of all different kinds seem to keep this quaint location busy year round. Now, as a girl without a sweet tooth or interest in dairy, I’m a hard card to play on specialty drinks. However, the Swedish latte was simply impossible to not write home about. Made of maple syrup and cinnamon, this decadent little treat was just right. The taste was full of flavor, not too heavy, and topped with a fluffy homemade whipped cream that sent me back to positive memories of Christmas morning in a traditional Swedish household.
Even though a thing or two could be said about the confusion I felt as a new customer when first entering, it all seemed to find it’s place eventually. Modern, friendly, and artful, I give Cafe Latte a high five for a splendid midday outing.
